The Golden Knights and Flames will face off for the second time in three games, this time in Alberta. Vegas has struggled in its last few games in Calgary, so tonight will be a tough test with just 13 games remaining in the regular season.
Vegas picked up its six straight win last night with a 6-2 victory against the Canucks. Malcolm Subban will man the crease tonight, while Maxime Lagace will serve as his backup (Marc-Andre Fleury will miss the game for personal reasons).
The Flames have one game in hand over the Knights and sit eight points above Vegas in the Pacific Division standings.
Calgary will have different line combinations for tonight’s matchup, with Matthew Tkachuk and Michael Frolik back on the second line with Mikael Backlund.
Here are the projected lineups for both clubs:
Marchessault — Karlsson — Smith
Pacioretty — Stastny — Stone
Pirri — Eakin — Tuch
Carpenter — Bellemare — Reaves
Schmidt — Engelland
McNabb — Theodore
Merrill — Miller
Gaudreau (#13) — Monahan (#23) — Lindholm (#28)
Tkachuk (#19) — Backlund (#11) — Frolik (#67)
Bennett (#93) — Jankowski (#77) — Czarnik (#27)
Mangiapane (#88) — Ryan (#10) — Hathaway (#21)
