2022 IIHF World Junior Championship: Day 4 of Action

Today is Day 4 of the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship taking place in Red Deer and Edmonton in Alberta. Day 3 featured only one game, an 11-2 drubbing of Austria by Canada, and included the United States having to forfeit their game vs. Switzerland due to the COVID-19 protocols.

Here’s a quick update on each Golden Knights prospect in action, and a list of the games on the schedule for Wednesday

Vegas Golden Knights Prospects Update

  • Jakub Brabenec, Czechia — Brabenec skated 13:25 in a 2-1 overtime loss to Germany on Monday. Czechia was going to take on Finland today, but forfeited the game due to COVID-19 protocols.
  • Lukas Cormier, Canada — Cormier skated 15:11 vs. Austria in a 11-2 win on Tuesday. He picked up his first goal of the tournament, and tallied four shots on goal. Cormier and Canada are scheduled to play vs. Germany in the first game of play on Wednesday.
  • Jakub Demek, Slovakia — Demek skated 17:39 in a 3-0 loss to the Sweden, with a total of 23 shifts during the game. Demek and Slovakia were scheduled to face Russia in the first game of play on Wednesday, but Russia had to forfeit due to COVID-19 protocols.
  • Jesper Vikman, Sweden — Vikman did not dress for Sweden’s game vs. Slovakia. Sweden will take on the United States in the final game of the day.

Canada vs. Germany — 4:00 p.m. PT — NHLN (USA), TSN & RDS (Canada)

Sweden vs. United States — 6:30 p.m. PT — NHLN (USA), TSN & RDS (Canada)

If you live in the United States, you can watch the games on television if you have the NHL Network as part of your cable package. If you do not have that, you can stream games through fuboTV which is offering a free trial.

If you live in Canada, the games will be available on TSN over the air. You can also stream games on TSN.ca, or through the TSN app.
