Let’s go over some news and notes:

- There are a ton of worthy candidates to take over as the Golden Knights’ next head coach, but three stand out above the rest. [Knights On Ice]

- Everyone makes fun of teams that fail to make the playoffs for relegating to playing golf all summer. Well, the Knights are playing golf, but for a pretty good cause.

In other news...

- Our old friend Gerard Gallant is once again up for the Jack Adams Award as the NHL’s best coach. Good for him! [ESPN]

- The Flames and Oilers combined for a casual 15 goals in Game 1 of the Battle of Alberta. Nothing too crazy. [Matchsticks & Gasoline]

- In the East, the Hurricanes took down the Rangers in overtime to get an early jump in their series. [Canes Country]
