2020 AHL All-Star Game: Lucas Elvenes to represent Chicago Wolves in game

Vegas Golden Knights prospect Lucas Elvenes has been selected as the Chicago Wolves’ representative at the 2020 AHL All-Star Game.

Elvenes, 20, has 31 points in 36 AHL games this season and is the Wolves’ leading scorer.

A 2017 fifth-round pick by the Golden Knights (No. 127 overall), Elvenes has been excellent in his rookie season in North America while adjusting to a different, smaller rink and a different game in the AHL.

“Of course I’m proud to get selected,” Elvenes said, “but I have to thank all my teammates too. They make it easy for me out there and that’s the biggest reason why I was selected to the All-Star team.”

The 20-year-old forward will also take part in the AHL Skills Competition on Jan. 26. The AHL’s All-Star festivities will take place in Ontario, California with the game on Jan. 27.

Elvenes’ 31 points lead all AHL rookies. He is currently on a line with two AHL veterans, Curtis McKenzie and Gage Quinney.

Elvenes plays on the power play and on the first line for the Wolves, and has made an impact as a playmaker with 24 assists. He’s tied for eighth in the AHL in scoring, fourth in assists, and leads all rookies in the AHL in points.
