Golden Knights recall Brandon Pirri from Chicago Wolves

Brandon Pirri has had quite the season. He leads the Chicago Wolves with 29 goals. He’s been an explosive offensive presence all season for the Vegas Golden Knights’ AHL affiliate, scoring 51 points in 54 games. He had 10 points in 14 games in March, including six points on the power play.

The only thing missing was ice time in the NHL, and that might soon chance.

The Golden Knights have recalled Pirri from the Wolves. It’s a smart move, as the Knights will likely rest several players down the stretch, now that the team has clinched the Pacific Division.

Pirri has played 226 NHL games, racking up 57-41—98 in that time. He has 18 power-play goals in his NHL career, and works quite well on the man-advantage. That might be a situation he’s in with the Golden Knights. The last time Pirri played in the NHL was with the New York Rangers on April 9.

Pirri has been incredibly important to the Wolves this season, as his goal total shows. Still, his emphasis this season has always been on making it back to the NHL, so he’ll take his chance. It remains to be seen where Pirri will slot into the lineup, but he’s a versatile, highly-skilled forward. He can play any position on any line down the stretch.

The Golden Knights return to action, with Pirri in tow, against the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday.
