Golden Knights’ AHL affiliate Chicago Wolves release 2017-18 schedule

The American Hockey League released its 2017-18 schedule Tuesday, and the Chicago Wolves, the Vegas Golden Knights’ AHL affiliate, will open the year against the Texas Stars on Oct. 6.

Chicago will open the year with back-to-back games in Cedar Park, Texas.

The Wolves first home game is set for Oct. 14 against the Ontario Reign. The All-Star break will stretch from Jan. 28-31, with the playoffs starting April 16.

Chicago enters its inaugural season as the Golden Knights’ affiliate. Previously the AHL affiliate of the St. Louis Blues, the Wolves were not re-signed following the expiration of their three-year contract and came to terms with the Golden Knights in May.

Chicago is coming off a second-round exit in the AHL playoffs last year.
