Forward Cody Glass, the first draft selection in Vegas Golden Knights history, has been nothing short of sensational in his final year as a junior hockey player. In just 34 games, the 19-year-old center has registered 13 goals and a whopping 51 assists for the WHL’s Portland Winterhawks this season.
Unfortunately, it may be a while before the former sixth overall draft selection suits up for action again.
Saturday night in a game against the Seattle Thunderbirds, Glass suffered what appeared to be a potentially serious leg injury. Glass needed assistance skating to the bench and did not return to the contest.

Not great.
Just weeks ago, Glass participated in the IIHF World Junior Championship tournament, where he logged two goals and six points in five games. Glass had been on a tear since returning from the tournament, too, picking up nine points (eight of which were assists) in his first eight games back with Portland.
The Winterhawks have yet to provide any additional information about Glass’ injury, but this certainly doesn’t look good for the perhaps the Golden Knights’ best prospect.
