GAMEDAY THREAD 46/82: New York Rangers at Vegas Golden Knights

The Golden Knights host the Rangers at T-Mobile Arena as they look to extend their winning streak to seven games. The Knights are riding a 10-game point streak and a 12-game home point streak.

The Knights played very well when these teams met in mid-December, though Vegas didn’t run away with the game early due to the stellar play of Henrik Lundqvist. However, it will be Alexandar Georgiev in net for the Rangers tonight; he gave up six goals in his last start.

Reilly Smith will miss tonight’s game, which means Brandon Pirri is back in the mix. Interestingly, Max Pacioretty will move up to the top line to skate with William Karlsson and Jonathan Marchessault, while Pirri will skate with Paul Stastny and Alex Tuch on the second line.

William Carrier has been placed on injured reserve, so expect Oscar Lindberg to remain on the fourth line as he takes on his former team.

For the Rangers, Kevin Hayes is expected to miss tonight’s contest.

Here are the projected lineups for both clubs:
