Golden Knights activate Malcolm Subban from injured reserve, assign Maxime Lagace to Wolves

After being out of action since early January, goaltender Malcolm Subban is once again ready to suit up for the Vegas Golden Knights. To make room for Subban on the roster, the Golden Knights sent Maxime Lagace back down to the Chicago Wolves.

The 25-year-old is set to dress on Saturday night against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Prior to his injury, Subban had himself a string of strong performances. He won each of his last two starts before being placed on injured reserve — a 3-2 win over the New Jersey Devils and a 4-1 win against the Los Angeles Kings. Those two victories are his only wins of the season through his seven starts.

His GAA of 2.95 and save percentage of .904 this season aren’t great numbers, but based on his performances prior to his injury, he looks about ready to turn things around.

Lagace was called up to replace Subban during his absence, but he did not see much action. His lone start was on February 1 against the Carolina Hurricanes. He allowed four goals on 31 shots in the Knights’ 5-2 loss.
