Injury Report: Jack Eichel is Day to Day, Shea Theodore is Week to Week, and Zach Whitecloud is Month to Month

Today the Vegas Golden Knights officially provided some injury updates on three key players.

Of this news, the most severe is the injury to Whitecloud, and you can learn more about that here.

Golden Knights place Zach Whitecloud on long-term injured reserve as injuries mount

If you don’t have time to read through the above story, here’s a TL/DR version. Eichel was hurt on December 3rd vs. Detroit, missed the next two games, but returned for an OT win over the Philadelphia Flyers. It was also during that game that Theodore collided with Travis Sanheim which caused him to miss Sunday’s game vs. Boston.

The Golden Knights made a trio of recalls to add some reinforcements to the lineup, with Jonas Rondbjerg, Brayden Pachal, and Kaedan Korczak being the three players selected to help in the interim.

Injury news always bites, and the only way to spin this bad news is to consider Vegas has done a good job banking points and putting themselves in position to increase their chances of making the playoffs.

They will need to get by for now without some key players, but the good news is that Eichel and Theodore could be back soon. It is unfortunate news for Whitecloud who also missed time due to injury last year, and month to month isn’t an optimistic timeline.
