Golden Knights assign Oscar Dasnk to Wolves, recall Maxime Lagace, Jake Bischoff

The Vegas Golden Knights made a pair of notable roster transactions Wednesday evening. Less than a week after calling up goaltender Oscar Dansk from the Chicago Wolves, the 24-year-old was sent back down to the AHL and replaced on the roster by Maxime Lagace, who has been filling in for the injured Malcolm Subban since early January.

Lagace hasn’t appeared in an NHL game this season, though he is capable of manning an NHL crease if called upon (as we saw last season).

Lagace’s return to the Golden Knights is not surprising. What is surprising, however, is the return of defenseman Jake Bischoff, who the Knights also recalled Wednesday evening. The 24-year-old blueliner made the Golden Knights’ roster out of training camp, but has still yet to make his NHL debut.

In 39 games with the Wolves this season, Bischoff has tallied a pair of goals along with nine assists.

With all of the Golden Knights’ defensemen healthy (from what we are aware of), it is likely that Bischoff will spend most, if not all of this stint in Vegas as a healthy scratch. Still, though, the decision to call up the former Golden Gopher is certainly an intriguing one.
