Golden Knights assign Tomas Hyka to Chicago Wolves, call up Daniel Carr

The Vegas Golden Knights called left winger Daniel Carr up from the AHL’s Chicago Wolves, according to AHL transactions. He will take the place of forward Tomas Hyka, who was sent back down to the Wolves.

Carr signed a one-year deal with the Golden Knights as a restricted free agent over the summer. He spent four seasons with the Montreal Canadiens organization. On the Wolves, Carr has excelled in the 16 games he’s played. Currently, he is tied for the most points of any individual player in the AHL with 22. He has scored 9 goals and notched 13 assists.

Hyka played 17 games with Vegas this season so far, earning 1 goal and 3 assists for 4 points total. The young forward is waiver exempt, making his move back to the Wolves the most logical for Vegas.

Carr will likely play on the third line, which has been the least-productive line for the Golden Knights thus far. Hopefully this roster change will light a fire after a slow start to the season.
