Mark Stone Participates in Practice Wearing Non-Contact Jersey

Today Mark Stone was on the ice for team practice while wearing a blue non-contact jersey. It was a big step for the Vegas Golden Knights’ captain who last played on January 12th before leaving the game vs. the Florida Panthers with an injury.

When asked about Stone, here’s what Bruce Cassidy had to say.

Stone underwent a 2nd back surgery on January 31st, and getting him back in the lineup would be a huge lift for the Golden Knights, and enhance their overall depth.

That will be the case if they are at full strength by the start of the playoffs, which is an unknown at this point.

Jack Eichel missed Saturday’s game vs. the Dallas Stars, and he won’t play on Tuesday.

We also got some additionaly confirmation on some other sidelined players who will also miss the team’s next game.

Adin Hill also rejoined the team following a conditioning stint with the Henderson Silver Knights. Kaedan Korczak also joined the team, and that makes sense given Whitecloud isn’t playing on Tuesday.

The state of the Golden Knights’ lineup remains a fluid situation, but overall the news for the team is pretty positive considering Stone returned to the ice on Monday. At this point in the year they can afford to be cautious with some other players, because once the playoffs starts, it will be all gas and no breaks for Vegas as they look to make a long run for the Stanley Cup.
