Golden Knights reveal jersey numbers for upcoming season
Another moment where we scream ‘yay.’
The Vegas Golden Knights players now have numbers to go with those jerseys.
The team unveiled the numbers for all players signed to NHL contracts Wednesday. Some were unsurprising, like Marc-Andre Fleury keeping his No. 29 sweater. Jonathan Marchessault is also keeping his No. 81 that he wore with the Florida Panthers, and Vadim Shipachyov will don No. 87.
James Neal (No. 18) and Nate Schmidt (No. 88) carry the same numbers from their prior stomping grounds, as well.
Here’s the full list.

A couple of observations: Cody Eakin is wearing 21, my favorite number. That’s another reason to hope the former Dallas Star does well in Sin City. Shea Theodore, meanwhile, is rocking No. 27, which is a bad-ass number for a defenseman, for some reason.
Reilly Smith is now No. 19 after being 18 in Florida. Nice of him to be a good Samaritan toward Neal. And I dig Alex Tuch going way against the grain with the No. 89, because why not?
