The Vegas Golden Knights placed center William Karlsson on injured reserve on Wednesday.
Karlsson joins Mark Stone and Adin Hill as the latest victim of the injury bug, which continues to plague the Golden Knights early on in the 2025-26 campaign.
Head coach Bruce Cassidy labeled Karlsson as week-to-week.
Karlsson sustained a lower-body injury in Saturday’s 4-3 overtime loss to Anaheim and missed Monday’s game against the Florida Panthers.
It’s a particularly difficult time for the Golden Knights to lose someone of Karlsson’s caliber, as the club has gone 2-4-2 in its last eight games.
A huge factor contributing to that rough stretch has been the performance of the power play, which has imploded since Stone’s injury last month. With Stone in the lineup, Vegas went 9-for-24 (37.5 percent); without him, the Golden Knights have converted on just over 10 percent of their opportunities, going 3-for-29.
In an effort to address Vegas’ recent offensive struggles, particularly on the man-advantage, the club recalled forward Braeden Bowman from the Henderson Silver Knights.
Bowman, 22, leads the Silver Knights in goals with seven in 12 games and is tied for the team lead in points with 12. He is set to make his NHL debut Thursday night against the New York Islanders and is expected to skate on a line with Tomas Hertl and Pavel Dorofeyev as well as on the top power play.
The undrafted native of Kitchener, Ontario signed a two-year, entry-level contract with Vegas in March 2025; the deal carries an average annual value of $838,000.
