The Vegas Golden Knights (2-0-2) will kick off a three-game homestand tonight against the visiting Boston Bruins (3-1-0) as they look to extend their season-opening point streak to five games.
Vegas is coming off its first regulation win of the season after securing a 4-2 win over the Flames on Tuesday.

The Golden Knights fell into a 2-0 hole but scored four straight to collect two points, wrapping up a three-game road trip with a 1-0-2 record. Jack Eichel scored two goals, and Akira Schmid stopped all 19 shots he faced in relief of Adin Hill, who left the game after the first period with a lower-body injury. Hill was on the ice for today’s morning skate, however.
Goaltender Carter Hart, whom the Golden Knights signed to a professional tryout on Thursday, was at the rink as well.
Schmid will be between the pipes tonight, though Vegas bench boss Bruce Cassidy said the other night that that was the plan all along.
Schmid is 2-0-0 this season with a 1.80 goals-against average and .929 save percentage. He has yet to face the Bruins in his career.
Eichel is tied with Minnesota winger Kirill Kaprizov for the league lead in points with nine through four games, and Pavel Dorofeyev is tied with Ottawa’s Shane Pinto for the league lead in goals with five.
The Golden Knights swept the season series against Boston last year, outscoring the Bruins 9-4. The Golden Knights are 6-7-1 in the all-time matchup.
Vegas ranks seventh overall in the NHL on the power play with an efficacy rate of 26.7 percent, while the Bruins — who have gone 2-for-16 on the man-advantage — rank 24th with a conversion rate of just 12.5 percent.
Vegas has gone 6-for-9 (66.7 percent) on the penalty kill so far this season, which ranks 28th in the NHL. The Bruins, meanwhile, have been perfect while down a man, going 14-for-14 as one of only two teams (along with the Rangers) yet to surrender a power-play goal.
The Bruins are 3-1-0 this season, most recently falling 4-3 to Tampa Bay after winning their first three games of the season, including a 3-1 win in Washington, a 4-3 overtime win at home against the Blackhawks and a 3-1 home win over the Sabres.
For the Bruins, David Pastrnak and Pavel Zacha lead the team in scoring with a goal and five points each.
Goaltender Jeremy Swayman is 2-0-0 with a 1.00 goals-against average and .966 save percentage. After a rough 2024-25 season, Swayman has gotten off to a hot start this season. He has a 2-3-2 all-time record against Vegas, losing both starts last year while giving up a combined nine goals on 70 shots (.871 save percentage).
The Golden Knights will look to carry over their strong play from the third period of Tuesday’s win against the Flames. However, Vegas will look to get off to a better start tonight. That includes trying to get the first goal after falling behind 1-0 in every game this season as well as in every preseason game and in each of the final three games of the second-round matchup against the Oilers last spring.
