Golden Knights sign Nicolas Hague to entry-level deal

Defenseman Nicolas Hague, selected in the second round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, has officially signed a three-year entry-level deal with the Vegas Golden Knights, the team announced Friday.

After an uneventful start to the preseason, the Golden Knights wasted no time sending Hague back to his OHL team. Despite his high ceiling, Vegas is banking in on Hague rounding out his game with the Mississauga Steelheads for the foreseeable future.

The 6-foot-6, 215-pound defenseman is coming off an impressive 2016-17 campaign with the Steelheads. In just his second season with the team, Hague was named an alternate captain and tallied 18 goals and 46 points in 65 games.

The Steelheads have already played two games in the OHL’s 2017-18 season. Thus far, Hague has registered an assist and a minus-2 rating. The Steelheads will play again Friday night against the Hamilton Bulldogs.
