The Vegas Golden Knights’ opponent for the Western Conference Final has been decided.
After eliminating the Nashville Predators in Game 7 Thursday, the Winnipeg Jets have officially earned the right to dance with the Knights in Round 3.
Vegas took on the Jets three times during the regular season, beating them twice and losing once. In their last meeting, the Knights defeated Winnipeg on the road as David Perron scored the game-winner in overtime, giving Vegas the 3-2 victory.
Ahead of Game 7, we determined that a series against Winnipeg would be the more “favorable” matchup for Vegas. However, the Jets are every bit as ferocious a team as the Predators, as evidenced by their dominating performance in the series-winner.
Beating Winnipeg will be no easy task for Vegas, but if there’s one thing we’ve learned this season, it’s that the Golden Knights simply cannot be counted out. Regardless of the opposition.
Buckle your seatbelts, folks. This’ll be a wild ride.
