Las Vegas to be host site of 2022 NHL All-Star Game

The NHL All-Star Game is coming to Las Vegas.

The league announced Monday that T-Mobile Arena and the Golden Knights will play host to the league’s mid-season festivities for the 2021-22 season. Dates will be confirmed at a later time.

“It’s very exciting to have the opportunity to host the 2022 NHL All-Star Weekend at T-Mobile Arena,” Golden Knights president Kerry Bubolz said in a statement from the team. “This is one of the league’s premier events of the year and we are thrilled to bring fans from around the world to Las Vegas to celebrate hockey. This event will also help continue our growth of the game in Nevada and our surrounding areas.”

This will be the first premier event the Golden Knights have hosted since entering the NHL four years ago. The weekend featuring the game’s top players through all four divisions will hold the All-Star Skills competition and the game itself.

In addition to the All-Star festivities, the NHL announced the return of the Winter Classic and Stadium Series. The Minnesota Wild will host the St. Louis Blues at Target Field on Jan. 1, while the Nashville Predators will play host to the Tampa Bay Lightning at Nissan Stadium.

Last season’s events were canceled due to COVID-19 and were not made up in the condensed 56-game season. The Florida Panthers were supposed to host the All-Star Game last season; as were the Carolina Hurricanes hosting the Stadium Series. Commissioner Gary Bettman said those cities will host events in the future.
