NHL releases schedule for Golden Knights’ first-round matchup against Jets

The Vegas Golden Knights finished up the 2022-23 campaign with a 51-22-9 record, tying a franchise high with 51 wins and setting a new record with 111 points.

Thursday’s 3-1 win against the Seattle Kraken locked up the Golden Knights’ third Pacific Division title in six seasons; however, this season marks the first time Vegas has finished as the top seed in the Western Conference.

The Golden Knights will face the Winnipeg Jets in the first round.

Winnipeg finished the regular season as the second wildcard team with a 46-33-3 record and 95 points.

This will be the second playoff series between these clubs; Vegas defeated the Jets in five games in 2018 en route to the club’s first Stanley Cup appearance, capping off an exceptional inaugural campaign.

The Golden Knights went 3-0-0 against Winnipeg this season; Vegas is 6-6-2 in the all-time regular-season matchup.

Colorado clinched the Central Division thanks to a 4-3 win against Nashville in the final game of the regular season. That means the Western Conference first-round matchups will be as follows:

Vegas vs. Winnipeg
Colorado vs. Seattle
Edmonton vs. Los Angeles
Dallas vs. Minnesota

The postseason is set to begin on Monday, April 17, though the Golden Knights won’t kick off their fifth playoff appearance in six seasons until Tuesday. Games 1, 2, 5 and 7 will be at T-Mobile Arena, while Games 3, 4 and 6 will be at Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg. Here is the full schedule:
