Following Vegas’ home opener against the Flyers, the Knights will then hit the road for a five-game road trip, beginning in Minnesota and ending in Philadelphia. The Knights will also be challenged with a grueling back-to-back against Washington and Pittsburgh on that road road trip.
A few interesting things emerge after a quick read-through of the schedule:
- After the aforementioned road trip, the Knights come home to have their longest homestand of the year, a five-game stretch that sees Vegas take on a pair of Pacific Division clubs, as well as facing the Tampa Bay Lightning on Nevada Day.
- For those of you with lingering bad vibes towards the Capitals, your chances for revenge are at the early road game on Oct. 10 and Dec. 4 at home.
- The Knights play the Los Angeles Kings on New Year’s Day. Will Drew Doughty’s resolution be to break fewer sticks? Tune in to find out.
- Vegas has 13 back-to-backs, a jump from 10 the year before. Eight of these happen by the New Year.
- They spend the last week of January on a bye, perhaps reliving their Cabo trip from last year (minus Brendan Leipsic, naturally).
- Late February is kind to the Knights, as they play eight of nine games at home.
- Vegas plays just one team five times, and that’s the Los Angeles Kings (three home, two away).
- The Knights have six early-bird home games (as in, before 5 PM): 10/26 vs. TBL, 11/23 vs. CGY, 12/22 vs. MTL, 1/6 vs. NJD, 1/21 vs. MIN and 3/3 vs. VAN./
The release of Vegas’ 2018-19 regular season schedule comes just days after the release of their preseason schedule, which you can view here.
