Mark Stone left Thursday’s game vs. the Vegas Golden Knights and did not return, and today it was announced that he’s week to week with a non descript upper body injury.
Mark Stone is NOT on the bench to start the 2nd period for the Golden Knights
His last shift happened around the 11 minute mark of the 1st period.
Looking at the replay, nothing stands out, but a long-range shot did seem to catch him in the lower-body #VegasBorn

Cassidy describes Mark Stone as week-to-week.
He will not play tomorrow.
I asked specifically if it’s his back and Cassidy just said it’s upper-body.

Stone has been sensational for the Golden Knights this season, and through 43 games he’s posted a line of 17-21-38 while averaging 19:23 a game. He was limited to 4 shifts and 3:57 vs. the Florida Panthers, and the timing of this injury is very unfortunate. Since December he’s appeared in 18 games, and has contributed 8 goals, 12 assists, and 20 points overall.

He’s a main fixture of the team’s top line, plays the power play, and kills penalties. The hope here is that Stone’s injury isn’t related to his back, because something like that would have the potential to be a major issue for him and the team. For now all we know is that he isn’t playing tomorrow and is deemed week to week, and stay tuned for updates as they become available.
