Golden Knights vs. Panthers: Open Game Thread and Preview
The Vegas Golden Knights are finally back home, and once again are desperately looking to snap a losing streak. The Golden Knights enter tonight with a record of 32-26-4 (68 points), and are 3-7-0 over their last 10 games played, including five consecutive losses.
The Florida Panthers are one of the top teams in the league and have tallied a record of 41-13-6 (88 points), and have gone 6-3-1 over the last 10 games played.
Earlier today, head coach Pete DeBoer met with the media, and gave some updates on injured players.
DeBoer said there’s a lot of ambiguity when it comes to the injuries to Pacioretty, Smith and Lehner.

Couldn’t clarify if they’re day to day or week to week, but said “Let’s put it this way, they aren’t on my radar for tonight, or likely the near future.”
At this point all signs point to Robin Lehner’s latest injury being a significant one.

I hesitate to put a timeline on it, because of the uncertainty, but it’s very possible he misses the rest of the regular season.
The Golden Knights are getting back some players though.
Janmark and Howden are both on track to play tonight, per DeBoer.

Everyone else on the injured list is not available.
Vegas remains in the second Wild Card spot, and they lead the Dallas Stars by one point, although the Stars have played in four fewer games. The Golden Knights can’t afford another loss, especially with the Edmonton Oilers ahead of them in third place two points up with two games in hand.
Earlier this year the Golden Knights lost to the Panthers 4-1 in Sunrise, and they will attempt to split the season series with a much needed victory. With that said, here are the projected lines for both squads which are subject to change.
