Golden Knights vs. Sharks: Preview and Open Game Thread

The Vegas Golden Knights need to win tonight if they want to keep their playoff aspirations alive. Vegas enters tonight with a record of 42-31-5 (89 points), and are 6-3-1 over their last 10 games played. The San Jose Sharks are 31-35-12 (74 points), and are 2-4-4 over their last 10 games played.

This is the third meeting between both teams, with Vegas having won the last two meetings by a combined score of 7-2.

Standings Update

In terms of scoreboard watching this evening, the Nashville Predators (1st Wild Card) take on the Minnesota Wild at 8:00 p.m. By the time tonight’s game starts, you will have a better idea of how that game is going to pan out.

If Vegas were to win today, they’d get to 91 points, and would have a chance to get to 93 points on Tuesday during a game vs. the Dallas Stars. A loss by Nashville to Minnesota would add another interesting wrinkle, but the bottom line is that the Golden Knights need a win.

Here are your projected lineups which are subject to change.
