The Vegas Golden Knights announced Saturday that the team has agreed to terms on a two-year, $1.7 million contract extension with defenseman Ben Hutton.
The deal carries an average annual value of $850,000 and will keep Hutton on the books through the 2023-24 season.
It has been a busy 24 hours for the 28-year-old, who recorded the 100th point of his NHL career with a goal in last night’s 5-4 win against Anaheim.

It was Hutton’s second goal of the season and helped the Knights get back into the game after surrendering a deflating goal early in the first period.
Hutton has recorded two goals and nine points while averaging 14:45 in 35 games with the Knights this season.
He began the 2021-22 campaign as an unsigned free agent but signed a one-year, $750,000 deal with Vegas on Oct. 28. The Brockville, Ontario native made his Golden Knights debut Nov. 13 against the Vancouver Canucks, the team that drafted him in the fifth round (No. 147) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
Hutton has 18 goals and 100 points in 414 career NHL games with the Canucks, Los Angeles Kings, Ducks, Toronto Maple Leafs and Golden Knights.
He has suited up in each of the last 12 games for Vegas; the Knights have gone 18-14-3 with Hutton in the lineup.
