Max Pacioretty named NHL’s first star of the week

Max Pacioretty has been named the NHL’s First Star of the Week, which seems appropriate. Pacioretty has scored eight points in five games since Dec. 8, most recently adding four points — two goals and two primary assists — to the Golden Knights’ 6-3 victory over the Vancouver Canucks.

Pacioretty, 31, has 34 points in 36 games so far this season and is on a four-game goal scoring streak. Pacioretty also leads the Golden Knights in goals, assists, points and goals above replacement in his second season with the team.

The NHL named Anthony Duclair of the Ottawa Senators second star of the week and Jack Eichel of the Buffalo Sabres third star. This is both Pacioretty’s and Vegas’s first star of the week awarded this season.
