Golden Knights to be on national TV 6 times in 2019-20 season

The Vegas Golden Knights will be featured nationwide six times during the 2019-20 season, with the first contest (to no surprise) being opening night against the San Jose Sharks on Oct. 2, the league announced Tuesday.

The Golden Knights will be broadcast three fewer times on NBC Sports compared to last season, but one more than their inaugural campaign. But unlike years past, the Golden Knights will have two-thirds of their games on home ice. Last year, Vegas had five home games with nine national TV games.

Four of those contests will be on Wednesday night, starting with the Sharks game on opening night — that will be the nightcap of the season-opening doubleheader that features the defending Stanley Cup champion St. Louis Blues facing the Washington Capitals. Vegas will also be the nightcap to a Wednesday night doubleheader, hosting the Chicago Blackhawks on Nov. 13. The last two are against the Arizona Coyotes (at Glendale on March 18, at Vegas on March 25).

Vegas’ Feb. 23 matchup at Anaheim and March 1 at home against Los Angeles rounds out the club’s slate on the good ol’ National Broadcasting Company. Both are nightcaps on Sunday doubleheaders.

Here’s the schedule in its entirety if you didn’t feel like reading all of that.
