The Vegas Golden Knights continued their winning ways defeating the Seattle Kraken on Saturday at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle. Vegas once again had the privilege of facing Martin Jones, and for the 9th time in 24 starts against the Golden Knights he did not finish a game he started.
Jones surrendered 5 goals on 24 shots, with 2 of the 5 coming with Vegas on the power play. Keegan Kolesar got things started off quickly with a goal just 12 seconds into the game, finishing off a pass by William Carrier who made an aggressive play to force a Seattle turnover.

Jonathan Marchessault tallied his 2nd goal of the season, and first of the game, on the power play after drifting off into open territory and firing home a feed from Nicolas Roy.

In the second period Reilly Smith also found the back of the net on the power play, and Marchessault tallied his 2nd goal of the game on a bad angle shot from the goal line that made Jones look very silly.

Shea Theodore ended the period with Vegas’ fifth goal of the game putting home a pass setup by Phil Kessel with just seconds remaining in the second period.

The Kraken finally got on the board in the third period when Justin Schultz picked up his first goal of the season, and his first as a member of the Kraken, off a feed from Andre Burakovsky with 6:41 left to play.

The Kraken struck again a few minutes later, this time on the power play to end the Golden Knights’ perfect PK streak at 6, with Jaden Schwartz getting credit for the goal after assists by Vince Dunn and Andre Burakovsky.
Seattle’s attempted comeback ended there, as a late power play for the Golden Knights helped them run out the clock with just a few minutes left to play. All in all the Golden Knights played a solid game getting off to a quick start, they continued to press and generate chances, and ultimately knocked Seattle’s starting goalie out of the game.
Adin Hill was very good in his first start as a member of the Golden Knights, and he ended the game with 31 saves on 33 shots. Marchessault, Theodore, and Eichel all recorded multi-point games, and the team improved to 3-0-0 on the season.
Vegas is off on Sunday and Monday, and will return to action on Tuesday vs. the Flames at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary.
