What to watch for as the Golden Knights look to clinch the Pacific Division against the Sharks

The Vegas Golden Knights and the San Jose Sharks will be battling against each-other for the second time in just over a week. This time, the stakes are a bit higher. Vegas will look to clinch the Pacific Division, while avenging their 2-1 overtime loss to San Jose just over a week ago.

The Golden Knights will look to become the second team in the Western Conference to reach 50 wins. Vegas can still win the Pacific with an overtime loss or shootout loss. San Jose, meanwhile, can clinch a playoff berth with a win.

Vegas is currently coming off a huge 4-3 overtime win against the St. Louis Blues last night thanks to the likes of a crazy offensive game and a Jonathan Marchessault game-winning goal 22 seconds into overtime. The Golden Knights are now 4-1-2 in their last seven games.

San Jose has lost two straight, including a 5-3 loss against the Nashville Predators a couple of days ago. The Sharks have still won eight out of their last 10 games (8-1-1) and have scored 44 goals within that time.

Can the defense stay hot tonight and shut down a dynamic offensive Sharks team?

The Golden Knights are currently playing some of their best defensive hockey at the right time. Marc-Andre Fleury, Malcolm Subban and the Vegas defense have only surrendered 11 goals.

Will the big boys in William Karlsson and Jonathan Marchessault stay hot?

Marchessault has currently recorded eight points over his last five games (four goals, four assists) and Karlsson has recorded seven points over his last five games (two goals five assists) as they have really taken control of this team over the past couple of weeks and will look to do so tonight and clinch that division title
