From Russia with Love; Evgeny Dadonov to Vegas back on?

Around March of this year reports surfaced that the Vegas Golden Knights were in talks with two high profile KHL stars.

Vadim Shipachyov and Evgeny Dadonov.

In the weeks and months that followed, Shipachyov signed a 2-year, $9M deal with the Golden Knights, but the talk surrounding his St. Petersburg SKA teammate Evgeny Dadonov all but disappeared.

That was until Monday when the NHL on NBCSports twitter dropped this tweet and article:

Yes, talks have resumed with the former 3rd-round pick of the Florida Panthers and it is believed that he will indeed play in the NHL for Vegas next season.

Dadonov, for those unaware, had a few brief stints with the Panthers between 2009-10 and the 2011-12 seasons notching 20 points in 55 NHL games.

He then decided to take his talents to Donbass HC of the Kontinental Hockey League. When they suspended operations following the 2013-14 season (I believe their arena was looted and burned following an armed conflict in the Ukraine) Dadonov went on to play with the aforementioned St. Petersburg SKA.

All in all Dadonov has spent the last five seasons in the KHL where he had 224 points in 271 games, including 30 goals and 66 points in 2016-17.

Let this factor into your mock Expansion Drafts however you see fit.
