On Tuesday the Vegas Golden Knights flipped the script in their series finale against the Toronto Maple Leafs, and flipped the script by winning 6-2 after falling 7-3 on home ice in the previous meeting.

Vegas and Toronto played a scoreless first period, but the second and third period mirrored each other as the Golden Knights outscored the Maple Leafs 3-1 twice en route to victory.

Ivan Barbashev opened the scoring at the midway point of the second period with his 14th goal of the season, and Mason Morelli picked up his second goal of his NHL career two minutes and 19 seconds later to give the team a 2-0 lead.

Tyler Bertuzzi enabled the Leafs to pull within one with a strike of his own with under 3 minutes left in the period, but Vegas found the back of the net once more with 51 seconds remaining. William Karlsson tallied goal No. 20 on the season, and was assisted by Jonathan Marchessault who had a strong night overall for Vegas.

Vegas was able to keep the status quo to start the third period, and did a solid job holding a 3-1 lead. Marchessault extended the lead to 3 goals at the midway point of the period, and picked up his first goal of the game.

Old friend Ryan Reaves made it 4-2, on a 2-on-1, just under 4 minutes later, and that would be the last time the Leafs bested Adin Hill. Marchessault was credited with his second goal of the game, No. 32 overall and an empty netter to boot, and Nicolas Roy recorded the final goal of the game with 31 seconds left with Ilya Samsonov back in the goal crease. Despite the final score line, the game was pretty close and required Hill to make 28 saves on the evening.

The Golden Knights return to action on Thursday to take on the Boston Bruins, and they will look to keep this momentum going as they look to keep pace in the Pacific Division.
