Golden Knights sign goaltender Oscar Dansk to one-year deal

The Vegas Golden Knights have signed goaltender Oscar Dansk to a one-year deal worth $650,000, the team announced Monday.

Mike Kelly of TSN was first to report.

The 23-year old, 6-foot-2 Swedish netminder was drafted in the second round in 2012 by the Columbus Blue Jackets, but had fallen behind Joonas Korpisalo and Anton Forsberg on the depth chart.

Praised for his quick lateral movement and hockey IQ, Dansk has struggled to establish himself since being drafted. He has failed to keep a save percentage above .911 at any level.

Most recently, Dansk spent each of the last two seasons playing for Rögle BK of the SHL, where he posted a .908 save percentage over the last two seasons.

He has a ton of potential and the pedigree from being a second-round pick, but he will need to put a lot of work in to get himself over the top. He should see ample playing time on Vegas’ AHL affiliate, the Chicago Wolves, along with another recent the recent signing of Maxime Legace.
