The Vegas Golden Knights announced Thursday that they have signed forward William Carrier to a four-year contract extension.
The deal carries a $1.4 million AAV and will keep Carrier in Vegas through the 2023-24 season.
Carrier is in the final year of a two-year, $1.45 million contract and was set to become a restricted free agent this summer.
The move is part of what has been a busy week for the Knights, who acquired Robin Lehner and Nick Cousins at the trade deadline and then re-signed Nick Holden to a two-year extension.
Carrier has a career-high 18 points thus far this season and is one goal shy of tying his career-high of 8, which he set last year. In 156 career games with the Knights, the 25-year-old has amassed 16 goals and 30 points. He has 21 goals and 38 points in 197 career games with Buffalo and Vegas.
The LaSalle, Quebec native ranks sixth on the Knights (min. 20 minutes) in individual Expected Goals For per 60 (0.8), and his 14.15 Corsi For per 60 is good for fifth on the team.
Carrier, originally drafted by St. Louis in the second round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, was Vegas’ selection from Buffalo in the 2017 Expansion Draft.
