WATCH: Peyton Krebs scores first pro hockey goal against Reign

Peyton Krebs has had a strong start to his professional hockey career, and now he’s found the back of the net in the American Hockey League.

Krebs scored his first professional goal in the second period on Tuesday against the Ontario Reign. The tally not only gave the Henderson Silver Knights a 4-2 lead, but it gave Krebs his first 3-point game as a pro.

The Vegas Golden Knights’ first-round pick in 2019 capitalized on a 5-on-3 for Henderson. He buried the one-timer from Lucas Elvenes on the backdoor, scoring on former Golden Knights expansion draft legend J-F Berube.

Krebs is playing with the AHL club while the WHL continues to figure out if they will play a season at all this Spring, but the Winnipeg Ice’s captain is fitting it quite nicely in Southern Nevada. If Manny Viveiros has to go all wedging-a-chair-at-DeAndre Jordan’s-front-door mode to ensure he stays, so be it.
