Jack Eichel is day-to-day with lower-body injury, will not play Saturday

The Vegas Golden Knights announced that center Jack Eichel will miss Vegas’ Saturday afternoon matchup against the Dallas Stars and is considered day-to-day.

Per Saturday’s broadcast, Eichel is suffering from a lower-body injury.

He joins Shea Theodore, William Carrier, Logan Thompson, Adin Hill and Mark Stone on Vegas’ injury list, which is starting to grow at the worst possible time.

Eichel leads the Golden Knights in scoring with 27 goals and 65 points in 66 games and was riding an eight-game point streak during which he recorded one goal and 11 points. He has four goals and 14 points in his last 10 games.

The Golden Knights have two games remaining in the regular season beyond Saturday’s tilt in Texas, including a home-and-home against the Seattle Kraken.

Vegas leads the Edmonton Oilers by three points and the Los Angeles Kings by six points in the Pacific Division. The Golden Knights will clinch their third Pacific Division title in six seasons on Saturday if Vegas beats Dallas (in any fashion) AND Edmonton loses to San Jose in regulation.

Colorado and Dallas have 100 points at the top of the Central Division with five and four games remaining, respectively, making every point crucial for the Golden Knights to ensure home-ice advantage through at least the first round.
