On Wednesday the Vegas Golden Knights recalled Laurent Brossoit from his conditioning loan, and they have now placed him on waivers with the hopes of assigning him to the Henderson Silver Knights.
Placed on NHL waivers today: Laurent Brossoit (VGK).

Brossoit is on LTIR after undergoing offseason surgery, and once he is activated from LTIR the Golden Knights will have no cap space. However, if he’s assigned to the AHL a part of his contract can be buried which would give the team some breathing room.
If Laurent Brossoit clears waivers and is assigned to Henderson it would clear $1.125M in cap space (the maximum amount that can be buried in the minors).
If anyone claims Brossoit it would obviously clear the full $2.325M. https://t.co/qKN1F6Igog

The duo of Logan Thompson and Adin Hill has played spectacularly for Vegas thus far, and that has left no room for Brossoit. Last season he posted a line that included a record of 10-9-3, a .895 save percentage, and a 2.90 goals against average. This was a drop off in play from the prior year, although he only appeared in 14 games in 2020-21 as opposed to 24 in 2021-22.
It remains to be seen if he will get claimed, and even though there are some teams who could use some experienced goaltending, his cap hit of $2.35 million likely will scare teams off given how many are at or nearly up against the cap.
