The Vegas Golden Knights (13-2-0, 26 points) have won nine! games in a row, and return home to take on the struggling St. Louis Blues (4-8-0, 8 points). Logic says that the Golden Knights should be in prime position to extend their streak to double digits, but this is the NHL where weird stuff can happen on any given night.
Vegas continues to be an offensive force and has scored 57 goals, they’ve allowed 34 against, and currently first in the league with a .867 points percentage. St. Louis has scored a league-worst 28 goals, allowed 46 against, and is 29th in the league with a .333 points percentage.
Tonight’s matchup is the first of three games between Vegas and St. Louis, and after tonight’s contest the two sides will meet again on December 23.
From a head to head perspective, the Golden Knights and Blues are leagues away from each other in most categories, with the exception being special teams. Both have a middling power play, and a horrid penalty kill. For that reason Vegas will assuredly look to keep this game mostly at 5v5, an area they’ve excelled in thus far.
Here are some numbers of note for both teams, and how they compare in some key areas.
With those out of the way, here is a projected lineup for both sides.
