Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Robin Lehner is out indefinitely and will begin the 2023-24 season on long-term injured reserve, general manager Kelly McCrimmon announced Thursday in a press conference on the first day of training camp.

Lehner missed the entire 2022-23 season after undergoing hip surgery.

The Golden Knights are expected to kick off the 2023-24 campaign with Logan Thompson and Adin Hill sharing the crease.

After backstopping a miraculous run that resulted in the first Stanley Cup in franchise history, Hill signed a two-year extension this summer, keeping him on the books through 2024-25 with an AAV of $4.9 million.

Hill took over for the injured Laurent Brossoit in Game 3 of the second-round series against Edmonton and never looked back, finishing the postseason with an 11-4 record along with a 2.17 goals-against average, an NHL-best .932 save percentage and two shutouts.

Thompson went 21-13-3 with a 2.65 goals-against average and .915 save percentage in 36 starts last year but missed extensive time due to injury. He has two years remaining on a three-year, $2.3 million contract signed in early 2022.

McCrimmon also revealed that defenseman Daniil Miromanov is out long-term due to an injury sustained last season, while defenseman Layton Ahac is considered day-to-day.

Miromanov recorded two goals and six points in 14 games with the Golden Knights last year, while Ahac, originally drafted in the third round (No. 86) of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, has a combined 12 points in 79 games with the Henderson Silver Knights over the last three years.
