Golden Knights GM Kelly McCrimmon tests positive for COVID

Golden Knights general manager Kelly McCrimmon is self-isolating after testing positive for COVID-19.

“We are aware of a positive test result involving Vegas Golden Knights General Manager Kelly McCrimmon,” per a statement from the team Sunday. “Kelly is self-isolating and will follow the protocols and recommendations from health officials and the National Hockey League.”

The Golden Knights are in Montreal for the Stanley Cup Semifinals against the Canadiens. Game 4 of the series is expected to go on as planned, per the Review-Journal.

Puck drop is set for 5 p.m., with the Golden Knights trailing 2-1 in the best-of-7 series.

This is the second positive COVID test to come from a team’s staff/management in this series. Canadiens coach Dominique Ducharme tested positive for COVID prior to Game 3 and will likely need to isolate for 14 days before returning.

No players from either team tested positive when the league released its daily COVID protocol list at 2 p.m.
