Vegas Golden Knights Partner with ViewLift to Stream Games

The Vegas Golden Knights have announced a new partnership with ViewLift to stream games which will complement the team’s previously announced deal with Scripps Sports.

Per the team:

The service will launch in time for the opening of the new season on September 24, with new features being announced in the coming weeks. The new deal complements the team’s previously-announced agreement with Scripps Sports to produce the games and distribute them via their local station KMCC-TV over-the-air, on pay TV and on connected TV platforms. ViewLift will create Golden Knights-branded properties on the web, iOS and Android devices, Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Vizio and Xbox, featuring live games and companion content

The release also mentioned that ViewLift is an existing NHL streaming partner, and powers other teams’ services with one such team being the Washington Capitals. Overall, this news is pretty much just an explanation of the technical components that we alluded to when the team made a deal with Scripps back in May. As included in the release, Scripps previously announced the creation of a channel where fans can watch games over the air, and now ViewLift will handle those who are going to stream it locally through a computer, tablet, streaming stick or gaming console.

Overall it appears that Vegas Golden Knights fans are in good hands when it comes to the ability to watch games for free within the market, and it isn’t something that’s common when you consider the turmoil that’s been created by the collapse of regional sports networks.

Just a quick editorial note, you probably realize that the site looks different. Knights on Ice recently underwent our second transformation, and this is how it will look for the foreseeable future. We departed our former home during the middle of the season and launched independently on Ghost to finish the season which culminated with the Golden Knights winning the Stanley Cup. The offseason site has been bare bones as we’ve been working on things behind the scenes, and we will have more information on that front in the coming weeks as we get closer to things starting up. As always, thank you for your support of KOI, and we are looking forward to the upcoming season and some exciting things we can’t quite talk about yet.
