Golden Knights sign goaltender Isaiah Saville to three-year, entry-level contract

The Vegas Golden Knights announced Friday that the club has signed goaltender prospect Isaiah Saville to a three-year entry-level contract.

Saville was Vegas’ fifth-round selection (No. 135) in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.

As reported by PuckPedia, the structure of the contract will allow the Knights to use Saville as an emergency exception call-up, giving the team some added insurance in the crease.

The native of Anchorage, Alaska will forego his senior season at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, where he went 16-14-0 with a 2.52 goals-against average and .907 save percentage this past season.

Saville played for the Tri-City Storm of the USHL before his collegiate career. There, he went 25-4-3 with a 1.90 goals-against average and .925 save percentage; he was named USHL Goaltender of the Year in 2018-19.

Saville is smaller than most goaltenders in today’s NHL at 6-foot-1 and 193 pounds but makes the most of his angles and positioning.
