Golden Knights recall Oscar Dansk, reassign Maxime Lagace

The Golden Knights announced Wednesday night that they have recalled goaltender Oscar Dansk from the AHL’s Chicago Wolves and have reassigned netminder Maxime Lagace.

Dansk went 3-0-0 in four games with the Golden Knights last season, posting a 1.78 goals-against average and .946 save percentage. He is 14-6-1 with a 2.80 goals-against average and .898 save percentage this year with the Wolves.

Lagace was recalled Jan. 9 to fill in for the injured Malcolm Subban, who remains out of the lineup.

Since Lagace did not see any game action for the Knights, it’s likely this transaction was made in order for him to get some playing time while the Knights are off for the All-Star Game and bye week. Chicago has two upcoming games against the Cleveland Monsters prior to the Knights’ next game, which is Feb. 1 against the Hurricanes.

Lagace has a 9-6-0 record with a 2.72 goals-against average and .898 save percentage in 18 games with the Wolves this season.

He went 6-7-1 with a 3.91 goals-against average and .867 save percentage in 16 games last year with Vegas during the memorable goalie carousel debacle. Despite his less-than-stellar numbers, Lagace helped the Knights secure 13 points in the standings during his stint with the big club.

He then served as Fleury’s backup for most of the postseason, beginning in the middle of Vegas’ second-round series against San Jose. However, Lagace did not appear in a game during the Knights’ playoff run.

Vegas re-signed both goaltenders to two-way contracts over the summer.
