The Vegas Golden Knights, guided by a 29-save shutout from Logan Thompson, bounced back in a 4-0 victory over the San Jose Sharks. The Golden Knights completed the sweep of the season series against San Jose, and recorded their second shutout against a team they’ve historically played well against.
Michael Amadio got things started for the Golden Knights with a breakaway goal 2:28 into the game, and William Karlsson struck just 1:57 later to make it 2-0.
Mason Morelli entered the lineup on Monday to make his NHL debut, and during a power play late in the period he notched his first career NHL goal to give Vegas a comfortable 3-0 cushion.
The Golden Knights held their 3-0 lead for a majority of the second period of play, and Keegan Kolesar added the final goal of the game with just under 2 minutes of play in the second.
Thompson was the star of the show with 29 saves, and he made some big saves during the game to keep San Jose off the board, and that enabled the Golden Knights to extend their lead and ultimately win the game. Vegas improved to 32-17-6 with their victory, and they will be back in action on Tuesday at home vs. the Nashville Predators.
