There’s this town in the middle of the desert in Nevada. It’s called Las Vegas. It has casinos, nightclubs and tons of yummy (non-alcoholic, of course) beverages to sip on. Aside from the Minus5 Ice Lounge located on the Strip, ice pretty much ceases to exist in this town.
Until now.
For the first time ever, the Entertainment Capital of the World is getting an NHL team. And I, along with the rest of the crew at Knights On Ice, are here to bring you the juiciest, zestiest, most delicious Golden Knights content in existence.

My name is Ryan Quigley. I was born in Upstate New York and spent the majority of my life living in Virginia. I am a graduate of Longwood University (yes, that’s actually the school’s name), which is located in a small town called Farmville. The vice presidential debate was actually held there this past fall, but no one really knows that because Mike Pence butchered the school’s name on national television. At Longwood, I wrote for The Rotunda, the school’s student newspaper, and had a sports radio show on WMLU, the student radio station.
I began writing professionally just a couple years ago. My first stop was with RantSports and I eventually started covering the Philadelphia Eagles and Flyers (the hockey team, the Flyers) at FanSided. I also did some work for, WRIC 8News, a local station in Richmond.
This is a really exciting time, not only for the NHL, but for Las Vegas as a whole. After seeing a non-traditional hockey market like Nashville totally kill it in the postseason, it’s really cool to think about the possibilities for the hockey market in Sin City. Admittedly, things may not be all that pretty to start out—it’s rare for expansion teams to immediately compete. But that’s what makes this so exciting. For the first time ever, Vegas has a professional sports team that the city can rally around. There will be tears of joy and times where you want to dive head-first into the Grand Canyon. But that’s the beauty of sports, and it’s going to be a lot of fun watching this city finally get to taste it.
